What changed
Notion posted a new iOS and Android home screen widget for AI Meeting Notes. From the widget, starting a transcription takes two taps: open the widget, then start the recording in the app.
The phone app records through its microphone. Notion's help center says that works best in the room, or when meeting audio is playing out loud from another device. It does not capture system audio the way the desktop app can. A temporary copy of the audio stays on the device during the session. After processing, Notion says the uploaded audio is deleted and the local copy is removed within a day.
AI Meeting Notes is on Business and Enterprise, and on eligible mobile subscriptions that include Notion AI. You need a current build of the mobile app.
This widget is separate from the AI shortcuts widget already documented in Notion's mobile widget help (chat, camera, and voice) and from page, favorites, and recents widgets.
Why it matters
Meeting Notes is only useful if it is running before the conversation gets going. A home screen widget removes the path through the app, the Meetings tab, and a new note. Two taps is the difference between a transcript and a meeting that was never captured.
Plan for the credit change. AI Meeting Notes runs on Auto. Starting December 1, 2026 it draws each seat's Standard credits, at about 10 Standard credits for a one-hour meeting by Notion's estimate. That is the same pool as other Auto work, covered in Notion AI credits explained.
