What changed
On October 30, 2026, at about 2:31 PM ET, Notion engineer Ji Pei (@iampgzp) posted a 12-second demo of better drag and drop in a Notion database. He wrote that the preview, haptics, and animation are all better, and said to check it out in Notion's beta program. At about 2:53 PM ET, @NotionHQ quoted that post: "Improved drag and drop on mobile!"
The demo labels the comparison WebView editor and Native editor while cards move in a database on a phone. The posts do not describe a desktop change, a plan requirement, or a date for general availability.
As of October 31, 2026, Notion's release notes still end at October 19, and the mobile beta Help page does not mention this drag-and-drop change. The two posts on X are the sources for what changed.
