What changed
On October 23, 2026 Notion posted an updated iOS layout for the foldable iPhone Duo. Unfolded, the app spans both screens. The demo shows three regions at once:
- The sidebar, with Home, Meetings, and the usual private and shared sections.
- The page open in the middle.
- Notion AI on the right, in the same view as the page.
Folded, or on a regular iPhone, Notion still uses the phone layout. The mobile help center describes that layout as a single column: multi-column pages collapse, and there are no hover states. The Duo post is the wide-screen exception.
Why it matters
Phone Notion has meant switching between the sidebar, the page, and AI. On an unfolded Duo those three stay visible, which is closer to the desktop arrangement people already use for research next to a doc. It does not add a new AI feature. It gives the existing iOS app room to show the ones you already have.
The help center's mobile article does not yet describe the Duo layout. It does cover the iOS and Android apps, the Notion AI home screen widget (chat, camera, and voice), and the actions that still require desktop, including imports, billing, and security settings.
