What changed
Notion 3.7, "Agent skills for your whole team," added Skills: reusable instructions for repeatable work, such as a monthly business review in your team's format or a doc critique in your manager's style.
- Create a skill by describing it to Notion Agent, or accept a skill Notion suggests from your work.
- Run a skill by typing
/in a Notion Agent chat, picking it, adding context and pressing Enter. Skills can also run automatically. - Share skills from a workspace-wide library. Related skills can be grouped in a Notion database, and teammates always get the latest version.
- Export a skill to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini or Grok. Notion generates a
SKILL.mdfile plus approved supporting files, and shows a badge when a downloaded skill is out of date.
Notion ships two starter skills: one that turns a draft into an exec-ready brief and one that turns raw notes into a PRD.
Also in Notion 3.7
- Sub-agents: a Custom Agent can call other Custom Agents, each with its own instructions, context, access and model.
- Meeting-triggered agents: choose which meetings trigger a Custom Agent, which receives the transcript and summary (Business and Enterprise).
- Embedded agents: place a Custom Agent in any doc for anyone on the page to use.
- Developers: a Custom Agent Insights API, a Developer Portal in the sidebar, and an Agent SDK in public beta (Business and Enterprise).
- Notion Agents iOS app for capturing ideas, voice notes and photos.
Why it matters
Skills make Notion the source of truth for how your team prompts AI. Writing the instructions once in Notion and syncing them to coding agents beats maintaining separate prompt files per tool. With Notion 3.8 the Skills API extends this sync to ChatGPT and Claude.
