Notion agents can now connect to 150+ tools over MCP, with a redesigned Connections page

TL;DR

Since Notion 3.8 (October 13, 2026), Notion Agent and Custom Agents can pull context from and act in 150+ tools through MCP connections, including HubSpot, Stripe and Cloudflare. A redesigned Connections page lets you browse tools by category, and admins can restrict connections to Notion-verified tools.

What changed

Notion's own agents can now use MCP connections to outside tools. Notion lists more than 150 available connections and gives these examples:

  • HubSpot pipeline data
  • Stripe billing details
  • Cloudflare infrastructure details

The Connections settings page was redesigned to match. You can search or browse tools by category, see how each one connects, and preview example workflows. Admins can allow only Notion-verified tools, or only specific tools they choose.

How it fits with earlier connectors

Notion's AI connectors (Slack, Google Drive, GitHub, Jira, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and others, with Salesforce and Box added in April 2026) let Notion AI search other tools. MCP connections go further: agents can act in the connected tool. Notion 3.7 introduced this as Custom MCP in beta for Business and Enterprise, where Notion Agent walks you through setting up a connection and actions wait for your approval.

Notion's October 19 announcement says agents can now connect to "hundreds of tools," up from a few dozen earlier in the summer.

What to set up first

  1. Admins: decide on "verified tools only" before people start connecting things.
  2. Sales and finance teams: connect HubSpot or Stripe and ask a Custom Agent for a weekly pipeline or billing summary written into a Notion page.
  3. Engineering: connect Cloudflare or GitHub and give an incident-review agent read access.

Frequently asked questions

How many tools can Notion AI connect to?

Notion says its agents can connect to 150+ tools through MCP as of Notion 3.8 (October 13, 2026).

What is the difference between a Notion AI connector and an MCP connection?

AI connectors let Notion AI search content in tools like Slack and Google Drive. MCP connections let Notion Agent and Custom Agents both read from and take actions in a connected tool.

Can admins restrict which tools Notion agents connect to?

Yes. The redesigned Connections settings let admins allow only Notion-verified tools or a hand-picked list.
